Juan M. Masini-Soler is the founder and Senior Partner of The Law Offices of Juan Masini-Soler, the President of The Masini Group, and the Managing Principal of the Masini Global Group an international legal and consulting firm. The Masini Group is a conglomerate that includes Political Consulting, Problem Resolution, Advertising, and Real Estate. In contrast The Law Office of Juan Masini-Soler was founded in 1990 as a boutique law firm originally concentrating a civil section in federal and state medical malpractice defense cases and a criminal section concentrating on federal criminal defense cases. While remaining true to its core inception it has since expanded to other areas of legal practice. Since 1990 Mr. Masini has participated in some of the most renowned cases in Puerto Rico including one whose trial lasted over nine months and another involving four Cuban freedom-fighters charged with attempting to assassinate Fidel Castro during a meeting of heads of state held in Isla Margarita, Venezuela.
While in private practice, Mr. Masini took a sabbatical to help restructure the Puerto Rico Department of Justice during the transition of the then sitting Governor of Puerto Rico. He became the Deputy Attorney General of the Island, at times serving as the Acting Attorney General. Prior to founding his law firm, Mr. Masini was the Chief Deputy Clerk and then Clerk of the Court of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Mr. Masini began his professional career serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Upon leaving active-duty Mr. Masini held several offices in the education and political fields and continued his military career in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard and also volunteered to be recalled to active duty during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm periods. Mr. Masini retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel and he still serves his nation as an Advisor to U.S. Air Force Academy and the ROTC program.
In addition to his Juris Doctor, Mr. Masini holds a Masters Degrees in Education, a Masters Degree in Law (LLM), and is a candidate for a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He is admitted to the Bars of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals. He also is a Notary Public since in P.R. only attorneys-at-law may become Notary Public. Mr. Masini holds ad-honorem appointments as an Adjunct Professor of Law and of Criminal Justice; serves on the Board of Directors of the P.R. Association of Realtors, and is the President of the Board of Caribe Federal Credit Union - the largest Federal Credit Union on the Island, also serving as the Chair of its Credit Committee.
